Vagator to Karwar

A shorter day today. There are 800km to go from Vagator to Cochin and we have 5 days to cover it, so we don't have to log as much distance each day from now on.

Last night was a party with all the Rickshaw Runners that had made it to Vagator. There were over 100 people there. We were out quite late and ended up getting a later than usual start today, which was okay.

170km of slightly hilly roads with a fair amount of traffic got us to Karwar. We chose to stop here because it is close to a tiger reserve. Unfortunately, upon arrival we found out we were completely wrong and the reserve is 120km away (2.5 hours by car). Oh well, we are going to decide if we want to take another rest day tomorrow and drive to the reserve anyway or just continue on. I'm thinking we will keep driving.

After we arrived we had lunch at a very popular local spot. The restaurant was packed, hot, and humid. But it was the real deal. The food was delicious and we felt like we were experiencing their culture.

Not quite sure what tomorrow will hold in store for us, maybe another short day of driving or maybe some sightseeing- I'll update everyone tomorrow night. Ricky is still running well [enough].

I kinda of feels weird that we are getting close to the end. It's amazing how quickly your body adjusts to a new regime- even when that routine is just short of chaos.

Have a great day everyone!
