So we wanted to make sure we made it here today. There is a Rickshaw Run party tomorrow night at a nearby beach club and we didn't want to miss it.
If you caught my Facebook Live video this morning you saw that the day started out on the highway. Sorry I could not do a proper sign off, we were without good service the rest of the drive. I would really love to share with you what the back roads are like, but that may have to wait until our final video.
After turning off the highway we began our trek over the mountains to get to the coast. The road was Tree lined and shady, but incredibly windy and at times SO bumpy. After all the bumps today, I'm quite shocked we haven't had more of a breakdown. The clutch just grinds like crazy on the hills.
This is going down a hill:

This is our teammates in front us:

Both tuktuks at a chai stop:

We made it to Vagator (Goa) around 2:30. And checked into our hotel. The location is phenomenal. The room is, to be frank, shitty. It is small cottage which is clearly sinking. The foundation cracked and the cottage has shifted so the shower does not drain. There is also and distant sewage stench all the time (cracked line during the shifting?). We asked for another room but they are sold out. At least we are only here for two days and hopefully our next stop will be better. That's the thing with this trip - it really helps you remember that bad things are only temporary!
View from the hotel:

Highlight of my day was spotting a white bellied sea eagle in the jungle adjacent to us while we had lunch. It perched for some time, then flew around, and eventually came back with a critter (I think a snake) hanging from its talons. It was a huge bird - very cool.
This isn't my picture, but it looked exactly like this:

Until next time. Have a great day everyone!
