I am writing this 14 hours into our 18 hour train ride from Delhi to Jaisalmer. Everything is a new experience. Yesterday afternoon we arrived to the Old Delhi Train Station. A huge majestic red and white building right in the middle of a chaotic market. When we stepped out of the taxi, everything felt a little out of control with a sense of bustle I have never really experienced. We made our way into the entrance and after a series of misdirections we found our platform and waited for the train.

Eventually we found two more groups of Rickshaw Runners and chatted until the rain arrived. Mike have 2nd class air conditioned seats(bunks).

They are nice, but not very comfortable. We shared our berth with an extremely friendly family who were also headed to Jaisalmer. They gave us a few oranges and they were delicious! One of them had even been to Chicago :-) We ordered dinner from a purser on the train. Of which we had no choices, just dinner. He brought us a tray with rice, zucchini, naan, and three curries. The curries are best described as follows: 1.) Sweet creamy (like masala) tofu curry 2.) Delicious yellow lentil curry 3.) Fire with potatoes Just a long ride. We are ready to be there.
