Deciding Where Your Charitable Donations Go.

I would like make everyone aware of some changes relating to our fundraising campaign.
In light of many recent events, my heart was heavy. I needed to do something. I was drawn to several organizations that I felt would help heal my heart and provide much needed aide to our marginalized populations. What I was shocked to find was the amount of divisiveness associated with charitable work and giving.
"They don't deserve it!"
"That charity misuses its funds!"
"They are too liberal!"
"They are too conservative!"
"They are too big!"
Having strong feelings about where your contributions go is important, and you should consider this when giving time and money. And I did when I starting healing my heart. Interestingly, my heart did not guide me to Casa Maria. While I KNOW this is an amazing charity that NEEDS support. I could not justify asking my friends and family to donate to them, when I wasn't inspired to do so myself. Please feel free to email me at any time to find out about the specific charities I am working with in my personal life. I am not sharing them directly on this blog for several reasons: most importantly, I do not want to dilute the charity we are raising money for.

Taking all of this into account, we decided we wanted to sponsor a charity that everyone (okay, there's always a contrarian out there) could agree is promoting a good cause. A cause that we should rally behind every single minute of every single day. A cause we should teach our children, and spread to strangers. A cause that will touch everyone's life. That is why we have chosen to sponsor, via our Rickshaw Run journey, Ben's Bells (https://bensbells.org/).
"The mission of Ben's Bells is to inspire, educate, and motivate people to realize the impact of intentional kindness, and to empower individuals to act according to that awareness, thereby strengthening ourselves, our relationships and our communities."
My hope is that through the projects Ben's Bells sponsors, our next generation will understand the importance of kindness and they will spread that to everyone, everywhere, all the time.
I will be creating a post dedicated to all of the wonderful things Ben's Bells does, and updating our website. In the meantime, please consider checking out their website: https://bensbells.org/. And donating to our cause.
As always, I appreciate your time. And, particularly with this post, I appreciate your understanding in our need to follow our hearts <3
