In short, The Rickshaw Run.

Mike and I make up Team: Rick Came, Richshaw, Rick Conquered. We will be driving an auto-rickshaw - think enclosed scooter with a lawnmower engine - approximately 2,700 km (1,678 miles) across the width of Northern India to raise money for charity. Our starting point will be Jaisalmer and our finish line is Shillong. We are provided with a rickshaw at the starting point, as well as two to three days of training and prepping. After that we are on our own until we reach Shillong.
What an amazing way to see India for all that she is!
This blog will follow us along as we prepare for our trip: Making travel reservations with the Indian train system, trying to use airline miles to book flights, purchasing our supplies, getting out visas and international driving permits, and general follow up on our excitement and anxieties as the adventure approaches. Our hope is to create a place that will be fun and informative for our friends, family, and future "Runners". If there is anything that you would like to know about our trip please do not hesitate to shoot us an email.
The most important aspect of this adventure, for us, is raising money for charity. This blog will focus on fundraising. Since we are completely self funding this trip, we will be soliciting donations for the next 13+ months for Cool Earth and Casa Maria of Tucson. Both of these organizations are so extremely important. You can find out more about them at their websites or by clicking on our CHARITIES tab. Please considering visiting our DONATIONS page to help further our {their} cause.
Thank you so much for coming along on this journey with us. We are thrilled to share it with you!
